Ash vs Misty was like the only time other than the Kukui battle that seemed to have any effort put into it.
I'm not gonna pretend that ever XY battle was as well animated as the Sawyer and Alain battles, but animation was much better than during SM a lot more consistently than people realize. Look at something like even Noivern vs Zapdos.
