If they ever get rid out of gen mechanics, the only thing I'd like they to keep is regional variants, but they could also make it so you can get them from breeding like:
>Regular female Meowth + Steel father = Galarian Meowth>Galarian female Darumaka + fire father = regular DarumakaSame with evos, making it so that Pokemon with only regional evolutions like Cubone could evolve via an evolutionary stone or in a specific area.
They seriously need to retcon a lot of things, especially shit like the whole baby Pokemon needing incenses or Pokemon who need ridiculously gimmick items and trade evolutions/moves/conditions shitfest they did in Gen 4 and the regional forms they're doing since Gen 7.
