>>42994282 Making original characters is harder when most of the Pokemon can't be distinguished from one-another by subtle facial features. It's where actions need to make up for the lack of distinguishable being.
A human-Pokemon character can make one's self stand out though unusual methods that are atypical of their species but would be natural for a human. A human Pikachu might prefer to stand on two legs even when walking, or a Cubone that removes their helmet frequently as they have no sentimental attachment to it. Pokemon with sufficient dexterity can also use tools that other species normally use such as Delphox sticks. That is not to say that non-human Pokemon can't also be creative and resourceful, but those traits are especially common in humans.

It's pretty good. It requires a different approach to the game than the originals however. Bosses are stronger, Skitty isn't disgustingly overpowered, and the changes since the original make it feel like a new experience. Recruitment changes are nice, as well.
