>>43000095>Just give them lots of Psychic-type moves then.If you wanted a Fairy-type with lots of Psychic-type moves, understand first that a unicorn isn't really a fairy-like creature but a magical creature. Magic is more related with Psychic-type than Fairy-type. Magic Bounce (Magic Mirror in Japanese), Magic Coat, the new move Magic Powder (which transforms the target into a Psychic-type and is learned by a Psychic-type), Magic Room, the Alakazam line (all based on famous magicians), Hatterene being a forest witch, Will and presumably Avery being magicians, all have Psychic associated with magic. Fairy-type doesn't have that per se, just one move (Dazzling Gleam, whose name in Japan is Magical Shine.)
The only reason why Galarian Rapidash is Fairy-type is because of its association with Bede, who becomes a specialist later on.
>Light isn't associated with any one type, but Fairy-type is among the ones it is associated with.Light is strongest associated with Psychic-type, such as moves like Light Screen, Luster Purge, Reflect, Necrozma's signature moves, and Necrozma itself. Both Pokemon radiate light much like Necrozma, so the Psychic-type makes perfect sense on them.
>Same deal as light, different magic is associated with several types, but the particular kind of magic they're supposed to utilise is related to life energy, the same as Xerneas, and therefore Fairy-type makes more sense. It's healing energy more so than light energy. Moves commonly associated with healing, such as Healing Wish, Heal Pulse, Heal Block, Rest, and Dream Eater are all Psychic-type. The majority of moves that just deal with healing and nothing else are Psychic-type. Galarian Ponyta and Galarian Rapidash can learn Heal Pulse and Healing Wish through level-up, and their horns are the source of their healing power according to the Pokedex. So yes, Psychic-type makes sense on it.
