>>43001900The fact that they forgot to remove Fairy Lock says to me they either didn't check hard enough (possible) or something happened that wasn't in the original design document. I'd also like to note that Breath of the Wild finally came out a few months after SM released, although I imagine Game Freak got to see some of it early so my following theory might not be completely correct. I'm convinced that the Wild Area was a fairly early but still non-initial idea, which caused them to look for things to cut. Knowing Game Freak they wanted to have their cake and eat it too, which is why we're getting the DLC in the first place. They genuinely want to give us more game, but they're crunched for time, not great at their job in the first place, and frankly in way over their head even if they were super competent. This leads to the "good enough" product we usually get, probably learned when Masuda took over development of GS so it would actually come out in a timeframe that wasn't 7years (yes, Gen 1 took about that long to develop and it was still a mess).
