Her stupid poofy wings and the fact she carries that dumb purse everywhere do her no favors. But the real reason she sucks is the same as pretty much the same as every XY character. She never really exists in the story which its;f was completely unfinished since they thought they would make "Z Version" Just like AZ, Malva, or any other character. People like the other Champions because every one of them since Lance in GSC was a part of the story constantly interacting with you and investigating the villains. Diantha is even more egregious in this regard since she came right after Gen V, where even the Gym Leaders were part of the story and got to make an impression on the player outside of on text line in their gym. Diantha and the Kalos Gym leaders have less story relevance than fucking Roxie.
