I mean ascetic autism aside anon has a point, Megas are generally useless. I've found no use for them and I'm essentially done with the major points of the game.

>>43010122 They were probably shoved in without much thought. I'm genuinely surprised they are even acknowledging mega evolutions still. They should either make more or scrap them entirely.

>>43010179 Yeah it leads me to believe this was in the works basically right after Super released since Megas were still the new hotness back then.
So sometime past early development they had to transition from 3DS to Switch, which would explain why we had to wait 5 years for a remake and why its not modernized with up-to-date Pokemon gimmicks.

Super wants you to conserve PP by giving less PP to the moves and giving less elixir? Great! Sounds interesting. Now you're forced to pick between reduced EXP and less damage with basic attacks and saving PP, and have to strategize on who you kill with moves and who you kill with basic attacks.
...Or that WOULD have been the case, but they also nerfed the basic attack to an abysmal, insulting 5 damage with no increases, essentially leaving it as a turn waster for mons one tile away and totally nullifying their "save PP" idea. Just terrible. Not mad at it making the game "harder", mad at it being sloppy and shitty.

>>43011726 It's factually correct. I don't care if you want to cheat, but you shouldn't be surprised if the game has some anti-cheating mechanism in place, and you shouldn't claim that you aren't a cheater when you are.
>>43011732 The problem with the basic attack is that it's way too powerful and can be used at any moment with no disadvantages. Remove these characteristics and it's either so different that it's not the same mechanic, or near useless like in the 3DS games. Story bosses are particularly strong and you're expected to use items. If you allow me to point at previous games, they were absolutely necessary in Super and that game didn't even allow grinding at all.
>it's hardly "too powerful", it's the weakest move in the game Did you play the original game? It was quite strong, especially when you're high level. It became a lot less powerful in Explorers, but it was still too much.
Anonymous
>>43011821 But it's not NECESSARY to have items. The point being, basic attacks aren't necessary either, but they're a great QoL change. The point about the originals is fair, I've been playing a lot of Explorers where it does a lot less, so my perception of the basic attack then may be skewed. I do think the games would be better for having a usable one, though, even at a low damage amount, as long as it's not 5.

Anyone else upset by how much time in this remake is spent in menus compared to the originals? I have to stop and eat an apple every 5 minutes of gameplay. Far worse, is that when you complete multiple request at once, at the end of the dungeon it goes through the rewards screen one by one, the rescue team rank increase one by one, and each pokemon has a few lines thanking you for the help (which why are they thanking me when they paid for a service that I provided?). You can't just hold b throughout this because you have to switch to a on the rewards screen. Overall this adds up to about 1 minutes per 5 requests filled, which means hours of your life will be wasted on the rewards screen just to get max rank I just feel like my time is being devalued by the developers with this long unstoppable menuing
Anonymous
I’m new to the series and I’m hard stuck on Moltres in DX... I just keep dying and can’t find new Reviver Seeds or Oran Berries in the Rock Path so the fight actually gets harder every time I try it. It's a good PP conservation option, would have gone phenomenally with the drive to conserve PP in Super, really helpful in level 1 dungeons where you need everything you can get, overall it's a very helpful feature that makes the game better as a result of its inclusion. How is that not enough? You don't *need* it, but my point is that you don't *need* a lot of things that make the game better, but it's great that they're there and taking them away would be retarded, just like taking away the basic attack, especially when they had such a good thing going with the lowering of the availability of PP.

Make the regular attack like Sky's, but a bit weaker and unable to double like a normal move. That should make everyone satisfied, now it works like it should instead of being Press A to Win and allows PP-conscious players to use it without having to navigate the menu. RT's was flawed because it was flat out busted. Sky's was alright, but was still a bit overpowered and skills like Quick Striker in that game completely negated any need to bother with moves.
