I thought Ultra Beasts were horrible and literally were not going to be Pokémon but some kind of fusion disaster considering how Lillie looked like Nihilego and Pheramosa resembled Lusamine. Still kind of hate UBs.

90% of people thought UBs were Pokemon forms of Human characters, like how Pheromosa looked like Lusamine, Nihilego looked like Lillie, Xurkitree - like Guzma, and Buzzwole kinda like Gladion.

I thought it was based af. Ultra Beasts were a fantastic idea and really helped expand the scope of the Pokémon world and what Pokémon can be. Ultra Beasts exist an an excuse to go crazy and create something that we wouldn't conventionally call a Pokémon and I think that's fantastic for artistic expression. I was sad when I learned that we didn't get more in Gen 8. For all intents and purposes though I consider Eternatus an honorary Ultra Beast.

I thought it would have been an interesting take on alternate dimensional pokemon, but GF just decided to be lazy because they knew it would be difficult to execute such a concept.

Thought we were about to get a crazy and good story with these non-Pokemon (I thought) ultra beasts as uncatchable/unusable boss battles and have characters in the story somehow be directly connected to each UB

Didn't like the design, thought it didn't look like a pokemon. Hate most of the UBs, but this one eventually grew on me. Actually, I quite like it now.

Most people I think were expecting Lillie to be Nihilego, since they look so similar. Lillie is also conveniently absent when you first encounter Nihilego.

But Lusamine dressing her to look like Nihilego because she's an obsessed freak is much more grounded and honestly better off for the characters' sake. It's one of those things they don't need to spell out for you.
