And anyway, it's aged fantastically. A remake will just add unecessary features and remove shit that doesn't need to be removed, see explorers DX.

Its nostalgia, gamers that were into Pokemon are growing up by now, and normies usually dont replay games because they sre not as hardcore into it. But seeing a "new" remake of a game with shiny graphics can convince even the utmost fool to buy it because they think they can relive their childhood memories.
