Also I believe it helps that no team preview was there and has to rely on game knowledge on what the last mon of your opponent will be so you can play to it accordingly. Gen4UU was the tier known as every other not BL or OU is usable in this tier so you are not taken by surprise if an NU mon was used in this tier.
