How does having vines attached to its body equate to nature powers any more than any other Grass-type? Virtually every Pokemon with that typing has "nature powers" to some extent. Happening to exist in the same generation as another Grass-type apelike design hardly amounts to much when Rillaboom has more in common with humans than its physical inspirations, whileas Zarude is an amalgamation of various primates in general design and character. The edgy color scheme is just to play off the savagery that these animals can exhibit.
