Probably either a visual novel or a walking simulator where the "battles" are picking the correct option. Not really mechanics just choices. Somehow it's good and it works.

Before anyone questions why lore is high and story is low, I'm way more into "show, don't tell", which GF fucking sucks at. There's a lot you can share without uttering a word and I think Pokemon would benefit more from implied conflict via lore books or exploration of a land. Sort of like BotW where there is very little story but there's a lot of lore in just how the world is built.

Ultra Necrozma and Eternatus are steps in the right direction. More so Eternatus, while a glorified Max Raid, is a unique "boss" fight that we haven't had before. The Totems/Ultra Necrozma were more unique then a standard battle. Stuff like that.

I took it to mean adding dumb shit like z moves and dynamaxing. I am happy with basic mechanics and not shoehorning a bunch of quickly dropped gimmick mechanics each gen.

pretty easy. I've never played a pokemon game with the sound on, any points in online would mean trade evolves / event mons etc would exist so it's only logical to set that to 0 to make gamefreak actually try. never really cared for the story, character, lore much but some would be nice.

Love videogame soundtracks so putting a lot in there is a no brainer

I agree with this but sometimes I just like to replay the game with different groups of mons so i'll buy the other version of the game and do that instead of just starting over again and again

Considering that Gen 7 is the least replayable generation in the series... no.

Replayable is more about convenience options and differences in progression that make things interesting. Skippable cutscenes, skippable dialogue, some kind of speed up button (basically everything the newer Fire Emblem games provide) are very important, as well as some differences in character interactions or story based on choices, to replayability.
