>>43037827Hmmm, let’s see.
>Doesn't matter. It made the overall game balance worse.Which it [Dynamax] didn’t by any metric at all, while Mega Evolutions had been fine in every game besides LGPE (which doesn’t have items).
And by any metric, I mean
>VGC (yes, even in VGC)>Smogon>Battle Spots>Doubles (yes, even in doubles)>Singles>Usage>Viability>Skill involvedAs a whole mechanic, there is not one source where Dynamax made the game more balanced, while Megas as a whole have.
>B-but broken MegasAnd Mega Ray, Gengar, Salamence, and Kang are not the whole Mechanic.
>Not a single one of these actually describes how it makes it a better mechanic. The “Kill things” part, maybe not, since Dynamax does the same but with guaranteed boosts and debuffs
But Doubling your HP is a bullshit “get out of jail free card” mechanic.
The fact that Gyarados can just survive a thunderbolt from Rotom’s forms while Dynamax, even without investment into defense, just makes it so you can just Unga Bunga since you kill everything and become nearly invincible for 3 turns.
And you not being forced to hold a specific item and being able to use any Pokemon means that there is no real downside using Dynamax.
Even the strongest Megas had a downside for the cost of their power.
>If anything it makes it a worse mechanic because it adds nothing to the fucking game on top of fucking up the balance. You say this like having downsides adds nothing to any game.
And doesn’t having downsides just make it more balanced than Dynashit?
>Dynamax at least adds depth. What fucked up logic is this?
>”Megas are a shit unga bunga mechanic”>”They have downsides, but that just makes them more unga bunga”>”Dynamax is actually a really deep mechanic because it has no downsides”What is legitimately wrong with you?
>Fanfic shit is irrelevant. You do know VGC has a ban list too?
And that many VGC players use Smogon?
