Meltan can get away with this for the sake of how they're created, but Zarude could really only utilize the title of mythical if it were endemic to the forest featured in the movie, which it probably is, but that still doesn't excuse other issues, such as having an unknown gender when packs of them apparently exist, thus warranting a need to reproduce. Sure that's splitting hairs, but mythicals were never really meant to be truly exceptional cases like that. Even the Japanese rationalize it as being some kind of illusion produced by the forest, or whatever.
