Did these games age well despite the Dreamworld being removed from existence?

I'd say the only Pokemon games that didn't age well were RBY. Way too archaic and broken.
Gens 2-5 are still good, though.

yep and Gen 5 is the greatest Gen in pokemon,

the creature designs in Gen 5 are the Mona Lisa of creature design and way more interesting than the shit in Gen 1-3. Gen 4 is merely ok. Gen 6+ have given us baby toys for pokemon. Pokemon needs to be edgy like Gen 5 to be good again.

They still hold well despite that. Granted its is a shame you can't get most of those hidden abilities anymore but there are still a decent number of them you can get through the grottoes. The only real downside there is the low percent chances of spawning on a few of them, like Poliwhirl and it's 1% chance.

yes. i just went and trained my volcarona from lvl 35 to 64 just by doing the black tower areas 6-10. got a shitn gible for my troubles. would train it but it'll look identical to regular garchomp. still, it's a nice reward.
