That doesn’t mean “Pokémon was always bad”, I’m not saying the quality of the game hasn’t declined over time, but you weren’t a sophisticated gamer to begin with if you ever put hundreds of hours into one of these games or considered it your favorite franchise at one point.
Sword and Shield still deliver the bare minimum requirements for the average player’s standards and does it so well we can ignore the flaws, not outright deny then, probably because it’s just a fun game in general, whether or not it has every little detail and refinement you expected.
