>>43081081assuming we're talking about Lando-T, the one everyone gripes about
He's the perfect storm of good things.
>amazing typing both offensively and defensively>god tier attack stat of 145 and great other statsHe'd run either Ass Vest or Choice Scarf. Typically you'd only need to worry about special attacking water and ice type attacks (because those are his only weaknesses), but he could easily shrug off most water attacks when wearing a vest. And if he was scarfed, he's promising to get off heavy damage on anything even if he's intimidated himself. He has not 1, but 2 fantastic immunities. He get Uturn, so if scarfed he can just get out of bad situations for free.
To quote Smogon 6/7th gen, "To put it plainly, Landorus-T is one of the best non-Mega Pokemon in Battle Spot Doubles. It offers the insanely useful Intimidate support, coupled with U-turn to help abuse it; solid offense with Earthquake; good typing; and all-around good stats. The only things Landorus-T really struggles with are its obvious weaknesses to Ice-types, rain teams, and Pokemon running coverage moves such as Ice Beam.
Landorus-T has everything it needs to succeed in Doubles, with strong stats all around, one of the most widely useful abilities, and a wide movepool that includes solid attacking, utility, and pivoting moves. This wide movepool and a lack of any major weak point give Landorus-T the ability to use many different viable sets that circumvent each other's answers to a degree. Landorus-T also naturally performs well against other common Pokemon in the metagame, most crucially Incineroar.
While it's seldom appropriate to have doubts about including Landorus-T on teams, this in itself also paints a target on Landorus-T's back; all competent teams should, and will, have multiple answers to it."
