Nowadays it's all about making a meme out of literally everything and anything, and trying to amass as many followers as they can, so they latch on to any trend in hopes it actually works. Just yesterday a friend sent me a Twitter chain with Covid memes and in those which had 100ish likes, the poster would reply "OH GOD I'M FAMOUS, 100 LIKES? PLEASE FOLLOW ME, I SWEAR I POST GOOD CONTENT!"
The obsession with e-fame and how everything became so fake and ironic is honestly sad and pathetic, nothing is genuine anymore.
