You got Colosseum and Gale. Not to mention the battles still look better than the ones in main series over a decade later.
Game Freak doesn't get a pass because they got 20+ years of games behind them and the franchise has grown even more successful ever since. They're a significantly larger studio with many resources at their disposal yet here they are cutting corners left and right. Unlike Genius Sonority, they literally have no excuse for the games being lacking compared to others on the same system. They can't even get something as simple as Pokemon scale right, which Sonority got on their first fucking try. And don't give me that 'each gen has to be three years for merch' bullshit when GF has to sit down with Nintendo and TPCi and plan shit out with them.
