gen 4, though it did a lot of things right, was a full on jumping the shark moment

the massive increase in number of legendaries, the retarded-looking evos for previous gen Pokemon, god is a Pokemon, etc.

I accidentally left it in my trouser pockets when I put it in the washing machine like 2 years after Platinum released and the cartridge got fucking wrecked, but it's still playable despite the physical damage. But I've never stored anything important in it just in case.

It seems to me like gens 1-3 had their legendaries based around the regions culture, as in they were literally legends spoken of in stories. Then you get to gen 4 and it becomes more of a gimmick IMO.
