Golurk and Trevenant are my absolute favourite Ghost types and should be the standard for Ghost type designs now I would love to see him make more Ghost mons

Not sure about that but when people at Game Freak show him their designs he'll recommend what changes they should make etc, basically just approve any designs.

Guzzlord is one of my favorite Pokemon. Golett and Golurk are also great. Trevenant and his other UBs are good.

Gen 8 is my least favorite Dex, though. DLC has a chance to redeem it as the electric Regi might be cool in motion.

He seems really hit or miss. Trevenant is one of my favorites, most of those are nice aside from Vanilluxe. But SwSh’s designs are really off as a whole, like they look more like a bad western cartoon than something from a Japanese game.

Golett, Golurk, Trevenant, and the Ultra Beasts are great. Don't really like Vullaby. No strong feelings on the others (never understood the hate for the ice cream). Gen 8 as a whole was ok.

That's why I have a very strong suspicion everything in this pic is his, with the possible exception of the starters (although he did like to draw them too, but it could just be because they're the face of gen 8).

We know he didn't do Sobble. James Turner said entire Sobble line was handled by two female designs in the staff, and looking at Inteleon, it's blatant that he was designed by the same woman that did people like Pheromosa, Haruko Ichikawa (she is also the mangaka behind Land of the Lustrous).

It was actually Ohmori who said that. And he only said Sobble itself was design by 2 women. We don't know for sure if Drizzile and Inteleon were created by those same 2 women but looking at Inteleon I think it's pretty obvious that a woman created it regardless

Like, I get that it looks weird, but isn't that supposed to be one of the cool things about Pokemon? Honestly, my only gripe with it is how I need to get it, never really liked Trade evolutions as a kid, even if I was around other people who played the game.

No. SwSh is a buggy mess that removed half of the pokemon and have by far the worst presentation in the series. There is not one area where SwSh improves on previous games. You picked the best time to quit pokemon because every game after Black and White has been down hill.

Depends on exactly what calls he made as an art director I guess. I like most of the pokemon on that list but I also dislike most of the gen 8 dex and feel that both the art style and the quality of the art has been decreasing since about gen 6.
Assuming he had a good amount of control over all of these things, he should probably just stick to contributing a few designs rather than handling everything.
