Hell they might even just be in the DLC. The UBs got some of the more substantial moveset additions according to the datamine, so they’ll probably be added back- and with new Regis and now regional forms for legends, I could easily see them adding a new pair of UBs for crown tundra.

This. They're the easiest "Legendaries" to add to because there's no fixed amount like most Legendaries. The birds are also easy to expand on since they don't have any lore outside of the 2nd movie, hence why they seem to be getting Galarian Forms. In fact UBs seem like perfect candidates for regional forms.

I have a theory that the Cosmog line and Necrozma are UBs, but don't look like them as much because they've adapted to the main universe. I'd like to see adapted forms of the other UBs

I wish they each got a unique ability. They stuffed 3 separate effects into Water Bubble. UBs each should've had something like that (maybe effectively giving some an extra STAB e.g. Grass for Celesteela and Xurkitree) instead of Moxie 2.0.

Necrozma is Ultra Beast though? It lived in Ultra Space.
Eternatus do look like ultra beast, but alien pokemon that aren't Ultra Beasts isn't really new (see Clefable line, Beheeyem line, Deoxys and possibly Kyurem).

UBs as a theme isn't bloat, cocksucker. bloat is aimlessly recycling the same idea over and over just to take up space (baby pokémon, unova monkeys and genies as different species, mythicals that don't need to be mythical, etc)

UBs are not bloat because they were specifically designed as a part of the gen 7 game experience

Anon not only has theory been around since Sun/Moon, it's already been confirmed in Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon. Cosmog's line and Necrozma originate from Ultra space making them UBs. They just don't have fancy UB code names and numbers.
