How did using a Mawile in Gen 4 go when it comes to Battle Tower? I was actually considering using one as a Ribbon Master, but it's got crappy stats before it got its Mega of course

Should note, they dont have to battle in the tower to get the ribbon, just be in the party. No fun in that though.

You forgot Unova as well (which actually had no ribbons at all even though some optional facilities like the musical and pokestars would of benefited from having ribbons be given as rewards) but I agree so much.

At least FRLG have a the League Ribbon for RSE, so with the ORAS League Ribbon, you can at least count the RSE one as a Kanto Ribbon

Still mad about no Johto and Unova League Ribbon though

Genuinely curious, why did you guys buy sword or shield despite the fact that you like transferring pokemon? I bought sword, but that's because I don't transfer pokemon so the dexcut wouldn't effect the way I play the game. But you guys transfer pokemon, why would you buy the games if they won't let you transfer all of your mons?

I was gifted it.
I didn't pay for home or bank and just used pkhex to move my pokemon up. Waiting on the DLC so I can hopefully get my Feraligatr ribbon master.

I use to have a Lvl 100 Cyndaquil from Gen 3 with almost all obtainable ribbon from that gen, including contests and the Win streak Ribbon from Emerald Battle tower(carried by Curse Lax and D Bond gengar), I managed to transfer it to gen 4 but skipped the 3ds games. I wish I still have that cart but I doubt it.

In my case I got shield as a gift (and it was a used copy as well) so it’s just there and for home, I had enough gold points to get 1 month without giving gamefreak any money and this dusknoir in particular has always been with me so it’s more of a tradition at this point.

But we are getting more of the old Pokemon patched in so thats good too. I really do genuinely expect all Pokemon to eventually be in Gen 8

I have my Blastoise from my first playthrough of Leaf Green. He's got all obtainable ribbons up through S/M except for the wifi and multi Gen 4 battle tower ribbons (It did have a shiny crown too). I plan on getting a Switch soon so I can continue the streak. Also hoping DLC let's me give him the Gigantamax factor.

From my Fire Red playthrough all those years ago, though I did get the wifi ribbons on them.
FireRed wasn't my first Pokemon game, but after losing my Gen 1/2 Pokemon to technical limitations and my Ruby Pokemon to a sibling overwriting data, I always keep good care of my Pokemon, and have many throughout. And I get all non-contest Ribbons on each and every one of them

I don't really care as much about Gmax Charizard, but giving Pikachu the Gmax factor would be perfect for it

I'm doing an every generation shiny regi trio multi masters. My Gen 3 trio is waiting on me getting corono-cash so I can get the gamecube games for the mt.Battle ribbon. In gen4 I just finished my hunt for the three shiny regis and am now getting the cash so I can EV train them then start on the towers. Also question for those with gen4 ribbon masters what is your approach to poffins I know using the veilstone premae ones you can get 160 in every stat, but I wondering if I can do better by making my own. How did you go about it?

Your better off with the veilstone poffins if your doing it solo as you can’t really make any poffins that are better than the ones you buy on your own. While it’s possible to make poffins that are better than the veilstone ones, it requires multiplayer to do so and to get the best possible poffins, you need 4 people.

Oh I agree that SWSH is the worst game in the series but alas there are ribbons to be collected. Even then I wouldn’t ever dare to transfer them to SWSH blind without backing up my save beforehand.

In any case my monkeys can’t go to galar so that only leaves my pikachu from leaf green, he will never be able to get the mt battle ribbon or battle towers, however he did get the gen 6 battle facility ribbons and all the alola ribbons except the second battle tree ribbon, i dunno maybe i should transfer pika, he has them because he was there for a lot of stuff i didn’t really plan him to have ribbons, at least he could be a champ in all regions

Well if your playing with two games simultaneously then yea you could theoretically make something better if you use the right berries (though they have to be two different berries as using the exact same Berry will make a foul poffin).

Also looking up the levels of the berry’s, it’s also possible to make really good poffins on one game but these berry’s are on the rare side (one of the best berries for spicy flavour is the enigma berry) so it’s something to also take into account
