The lucky but dangerous people won't even show any real symptoms, so they can end up spreading it around without realizing. Most people will just have to deal with what feels like a particularly nasty flu, but there's always the risk it can get worse. The very old and very young are the most threatened, and it can be lethal in those circumstances. Same if you just have a weaker immune system.
So yeah. If you think there's a serious possibility you're infected, get tested. It's better to know sooner than later.
