I really like how the Gym Leaders and even the other trainers felt like rivals who wanted the title of Champion just as much as the MC and Hop

I really enjoyed the tone of the story with this game

I disagree. Most of the story in SwSh was just "Tell, don't show", where a lot of the important events happened off-screen. And as much hate as SM gets on this board, I thought it had a far better story with more memorable characters.

You mean the shit with Eternatus? That wasn’t the story, that was a side plot. The main story was about the MC and Hop’s claim to fame in the Galar League. And that’s exactly why the postgame and dlc packs are more story focused because the main plot of the League Challenge is over and done with.

Yeah it was neat that everyone seemed to actualy care about winning more than usual. Everything involving Eternatus is dumb but I enjoyed the sporty stuff and the bognadoffs

For better or worse, I liked that every time the kid tried to get involved with the plot, the adults told them to just have fun with the challenge and the grown-ups will take care of the issues.

Ultimately you end up helping anyway but it was nice to see adult characters step up and try to save the day.

Yeah I agree, like you can argue how good it is that they did it, but them wanting you to focus on the gyms given the higher focus on the gym challenge in this game was pretty cool, and it lets the champion do things instead of jerking off while you fight the evil team, which we've only really had with Alder before.

Absolutely, the main plot was trash, but everything to do with the Pokemon League was handled brilliantly and I can't wait for GF to throw it out in the next game as is they do with all good ideas.
