It's actually not bad, yes it has the tranny stuff but story in pokemon has always been ignorable anyway.

I hadn't played this game since 2018 and I booted it up just a couple days ago to mess around in the postgame. The sidequests are actually interesting, and the writing/worldbuilding is actually tolerable as opposed to "ZOMG I AM TERRA TEH PENGUIN OF DOOM XD"

It's really, really satisfying to be able to build up teams late-game filled with the bro mons of your choosing and pit them against an actual challenge. Can't wait for the next update so that I can skip through the shitty story and get around to the actual, final postgame.

I had more or less the same experience: it has some very salient flaws, but it provides a lot of fun things you don't get in some of the other hacks/fangames that follow the typical formula.

I liked the way some Anon described it in another thread, essentially that in Reborn every major battle is a puzzle to solve. I enjoyed having to cycle new 'mons into my team in order to address new challenges, but the grind that comes with that is annoying.
