In the DS era there was a sense of unity and continuity between regions, which is why in Sinnoh there are many references to Johto and Hoenn, Johto had many references to Sinnoh and Hoenn and Unova has many references to Kanto, Jotho, Hoenn and Sinnoh.

The other gens are cared about. Also, don't pretend like All 151 are catered to. Campare the fanservice given to Machamp and Gengar and campare them to Golem and Alakazam, big difference.

Gardevoir is only sexualized by creeps on rule 34, she is based on a protector and Knight who protects Trainer and doesn't have an appearance that is meant to arouse players.

They also had the theme that they're, you know, golems. They're made of materials you literally can use to build structures and statues. How the hell should I grab electricity to mold it into a golem? I'm not fucking Zeus. A ghost-type one made of bones might have been nice, or a grass one made of timber, ground could work but that would be a big claydol. Just not these two.

Not really. We didn't know about it until the game was out and even then the game doesn't even mention or show it until Diantha sends it out. Afterwards, there was a TCG set featuring it and that was about it. Other megas got way more attention and promotion like blaziken

Kanto is actually well written, has objectively good designs and over all more well thought out causing for the region to blend well with others.

That's a first

Innovation isn't necessarily good, there's been a lot of awful gimmicks like Megas. The formula was already pretty good and just needed some polish.
Besides I think features like the split and having Wifi were pretty good. Underground was nice as well.
