Is it generation 7 pagan?
Or I am confused like..
Who is the "god"?
Every generation likes to introduce a new main god (to say it somehow), but generation 7 confuses me the most. Is it Melmetal? Tapu Koko? Cosmog? Necrozma? SILVALLY??? ¡¡!!¡¡!! What do you think anon?

also what the fuck are you trying to say here zygarde is the "big" legendary of kalos (despite not getting a better form until gen 7), and kyurem is in no way a god, its the shell of the original dragon after splitting a part

The Tapus are local gods. Cosmog line and Necrozma are basically space invaders from another universe with Necrozma being more of the god for the other universe, and Silvally was humanity's attempt at being god again, only worse.

Gen 1 didn't actually have a "god" of sorts, just the ancestor with humanity playing god.

Gen 2 started the whole deity thing with Ho-oh, which ended with the three beasts.

Gen 3 has Fug, Kyogre, and Groudon as their own things.

Gen 4 has Arceus.

Gen 5 has Reshiram and Zekrom, with Kyurem being the left over residue of the original dragon splitting off.

Gen 6 has Yveltal and Xerneas as their own, with Zygarde being the balance keeper of sorts which is why we saw it shoddily also put into Gen 7 as well.

Zygarde is above Xerneas/Yveltal. It has to keep balance so that there isn’t too much life or death in the world. SM’s dex entries also directly say it delivers divine punishment.

Necrozma is a bit weird. The people of Ultra Megalopolis respect it and gave it an honorary title. However, they kept it imprisoned in a tower after their ancestors broke. Light, pieces of its body, and Z-power were scattered across the dimensions and it ate the dimensions light in response.
From a famitsu interview, they designed its role in the game to be like a "cultural hero."
>Iwao: The way of illustrating Necrozma is a point we took a lot of care of. How do we fire out his presence as big, we thought a lot of it. So we though adopting the concept of "cultural hero", an outline that captures myths and traditions left on the different places on the world we live in. This means, not an almighty "god", but rather an special entity that gives humans things that make their lives abundant, like fire and crops. It can be attributed to Prometheus from Greek mythology or Maui from the Polynesian lore, however there's also cultural heroes who are two-faced tricksters who like mischief. In this game, we also took the framework of cultural hero for Necrozma, this way we thought we could make it leave a strong impression on the players.
