It's sad because while Gen 4 is my favorite, i understand why it's not aged as well because it's short of some nice qol life changes that were introduced later in the series like a faster engine, reusable tms and less hms.

A remake would literally fix all of this but then you have to worry about cut content so it sucks.

we know that the remakes are coming because
1) people are massively asking for it since 2016
2) it's going to sell like crazy
personally, I want them mainly for the remastered music and I'm also very curious about how they will modernize my favourite region in HD and with 3D graphics, literally every true gen 4 fan should be excited about it

I'm not OP but I would like to see DP remakes because remaking those games might unironically be the last time we'll ever see following mons because of amity square. If ORAS is anything to go by features from older games only make a return if it's a remake of a game that had that feature. Contests have been absent since gen 5 and came back in ORAS simply because it's based on a game that had contests. Following mons was probably only in LGPE because it was based on yellow which had following pikachu. Perhaps this is wishful thinking maybe they'll expand on the feature like they did in LGPE where you can ride any mon that's big enough or something

If you think about it Gen IV is probably Masuda's least favorite generation, which is why he isn't in any hurry to revisit or pander to fans of it.

Gen III was his brainchild and the first title to shift creative control away from Tajiri, and he worked his ass off for Gen V.

Gen IV was delayed, suffered from massive technical glitches, DP had the rest reception and sales of a mainseries title, and had especially negative reception for a piecemeal dex made up of cross evos.
