Everytime i talk to my friends or others it seems like they only enjoy at most 2 gens and hate the rest.

The only gens i can say i dislike are 6 and 8 but that's only 2 so not even half.

I'm the same as you, I dislike Gen 6 and 8. That's about it. My favorites are 3 and 4.
But I wish we got more Colosseum games.

Same, 7 is a slog with the story but the challenge and variety keeps it fresh for me. All of them have alot of a mashing though.

The only gens I genuinely enjoyed and had fun with where 2, 5 and 6.
1 was boring, 3 was okay, 4 was hot garbage (yes, even Platinum), 7 was annoying, and I didn't even bother with 8.

Gen 3 got cucked by oras being a mediocre remake.

I legitimately enjoyed every game other than Shield, which I am still attempting to slog through. Ultra Sun ( I skipped regular Sun) wasn't that great either but had some fun moments with Lillie and Team Skull. Shield on the other hand has no real evil team, just some living roadblocks in ugly costumes, not much plot, and poor NPC characters. For now I'm replaying gen 4, my personal favorite, and planning to go back and do a proper play of crystal soon

i was just trying to be general but yeah they changed a lot of story and dialogue but left so much shit unchanged for the worse.

The new exp share being in the game but at the same time not adjusting the level curve caused me to be like 10 levels above every trainer even the elite 4. It was atrocious

I like every gen besides 7.
Only reason I don't like Gen 7 is because the 3DS is garbage. I like most of the characters in the series itself.

The only gen that I disliked was gen 6, mostly because majority of the pokemon introduce in that gen are forgettable to me, and the gym leader theme wasn't good.

That seems to be GF's number 1 issue with remakes. With both HGSS and ORAS for example, they haven't altered or catered the level curve to the changes. So you end up steamrolling the game.
It's less of a problem in HGSS due to the lack of the EXP Share but it still hits you like a truck after the Lance.

yeah HG/SS problem was the same as gold and silver, the gym leaders are very strong but the trainers leading up to their gym are very weak so you can be unprepared or underleveled.

DP had a decent level curve until the elite 4, platinum adjusted and helped with this problem so I hope they don't ignore it.

My worry is that with Sinnoh remakes. They'll try and copy too much from the original DP iterations. Platinum references would be kept to a minimum. Example Luca and Dawn's outfits being based off Platinum. Designs would reflect Platinum as well as Giratina being regulated to postgame. But everything else would be the same as Diamond and Pearl in terms of specifics. Maybe worse if you consider ORAS.

that's kinda what sucks, i hate that oras makes us have to speculate on whether they'll remake the worse version over the improved one. I genuinely have no idea why'd they do this especially after hg/ss kept the new content from cystal despite being named after gold and silver.

The distortion world was really well received when plat came out because it was a better scenario than the palkia/dialga one, shifting it to post game would be a mistake.

I heard Pictocross or Trozei or whatever is ass but I never played. Didn't play Masters, didn't play LG. Didn't play any pinball or other unmentioned spinoffs.

I like the traditional battle system and how it has evolved over the years, but I think games with movement options and gridding like Mystery Dungeon and Conquest (I will not shut up how underrated this game is, it just lacks a bit of polish and bonus content, yet still has an expansive post game and Pokemon list) have my favorite mechanics and feel the most fun. That said, I do like the majority of them, but many of the games, both spinoff and mainline, do often feel low-effort or lacking in some ways.
