Some of it is the quadruped curse. Quadrupeds in general really need more freely-given moves.

What about it needs fixing? It has dual screens, taunt, explosion, toxic, twave, foul play, and STAB thunderbolt. Thats a solid enough movepool for a shitmon.

It should at least get some of the ball moves. Energy Ball, Shadow Ball, Aura Sphere. That’s fair for a shitmon that never sees play anyway.

It would be nice if it got Galvanize as an ability. Just replace Static or Soundproof. Aftermath is too thematic to get rid of.
At least it'll probably get Overdrive once we move on to the next generation and that move receives proper distribution.

Hitmonlee has learned it by level up since gen 4.
If it was still Blaziken's signature move up to gen 7, and gen 8 was the first time GF distributed it to anything else, I doubt Hitmonlee would even cross their minds.

New ability that uses base speed as the damaging stat instead of base attack for explosion and self destruct only. Now you have a literal nuke that will kill anything that isn't ghost/rock/steel
