Generation 7 wasn't that bad. It was one hell of an improvement over Gen 6.

The campaign and the graphics are better than gen 6 but everything else is worse.

they need to make bigger games with larger environments and more content to justify the number of cutscenes
im playing through dragon quest 11 and it has lots of dialogue and story content, but it feels much less claustrophobic than nu-pokemon

The music and characters in Sun and Moon are some of the best in the series. Everything else is kind of meh.

The thing is many retards who say "SM's a JRPG i-it's supposed to be obnoxious with cutscenes and dialogue" don't understand that when JRPG do it it's usually to tell you important shit plus it's usually spaced out well enough, like you said, so it isn't an issue.
I've played Dragon Warrior VII on the PS1, an actual 100+ hour JRPG, enjoyed it, and I found SM almost unbearable because NPCs would stop you to tell you the most trivial shit every turn and corner. Shit's obnoxious and is the epitome of bad game design especially in a region with so little to explore Alola.

You're aware that this is all subjective, right? I personally remember literally all gym leaders/E4 from Kalos whereas I barely remember gen 3 and 4's, it's not an indication of anything.

Playing through DQXI right now, it’s my first DQ game and I gotta admit all of the dialogue feels a lot less intrusive. Helps that you can skip cutscenes in the Switch version.

I was taking a walk around the neigborhood with my M95 on.

I saw a super old Asian man in his yard. I felt like being super friendly in this gloomy time so, I did the Alolan double hand circle wave.

I somehow wasted over 300 maybe 400 hours in my Sun version accomplishing pretty much nothing. I have no idea how. I completely forgot haven't touched the game in years At least 100 of them mindlessly trading shit in an attempt to make festival plaza a tenth as useful as join avenue.

But for a moment all that wasted time was worth it. The old Asian man was confused smiled laughed then started dancing

That you for that brief moment gen VII. I'll treasure it always.
