Which region do you think got the better regional forms in term of design and concept? Alola or Galar? And were regional evolution a big mistake or do you hope they will make more in the future of them?

Are regional forms/evolution a feature do you wish to come back in Generation 9?

I don't like Regional Evos either, because they're just gonna be cut next gen and the Pokemon is back where it started. If they're gonna add cross-gen evos make them for the base form instead.

Galar Corsola and Marowak easily became my favorite ghost types

Alola makes more sense thematically. I personally prefer all of the Galarian evolutions (except Obstagoon, I hate that wretched thing), but I would be happy if they didn't exist as well

regional forms allow for the addition of what are effectively new pokemon without lengthening the dex. while gen VII's examples were badly executed, regional forms as a system are far superior to Megas, Z-Moves and Gigantamax together.

I also like the idea of more darwinian style evolution, but I'd like to move away from the half-done lines. convert the whole line or don't bother.

the ability to add new evolutions is cool too.

I like Galar's variants a lot more but I do think evolutions were a big mistake - at least in terms of concept (the actual designs are fine outside of Rapidash and Obstagoon). It's such a clunky and problematic way of attempting to bring about new Pokemon all for the sake of a new advertising gimmick.

Alola's made sense in that Alola felt like a region very different from other regions that would have specific adaptations for certain pokemon

Galar is just lazy, continuing what should have been a one-off gimmick for the sake padding the pokedex and make no sense since Galar is supposed to be another ordinary region.

I've mixed feelings.

I like the alolan ones, but not the Kantodex exclusivity.

I like the idea of regional evolution too, but I think it needs to be retconned. Probopass and Magnezone, i.e., need to be seens as sinnohan evolutions of regular Nosepass (much like HGSS).

Sirfetch'd should have been a regular evolution. Rapidash is so ugly. So was Stunfisk. I don't really like Mr Mime either and would have preferred if Mr Rime was just the Galarian Mr Mime.

More Gen 2 pokemon should have had regional forms.

Yes, I'd rather just have normal cross-gens insead of one for a pokemon's form we won't have access to for a long ass time

I like megas more but maybe they can do a megas for new games and regional forms for remakes or vice versa. Just go back to normal cross-gen evolutions

Alola's made sense. Galar's seem kind of memed into existence. Most of them don't really have a reason to exist outside "what if..." At least all the Alolans (but Raichu) had logical, somewhat real world flavor to explain why they existed. Plus it being an island helps. I still can't wrap my head around Galarian Darmanitan or Mr. Mime needing to exist at all, or why they're Ice-type. The only Galarian form that absolutely makes sense is Zigzagoon because it's a badger. You can make good arguments for Ponyta, Farfetch'd and even Weezing, but those are stretches. The rest are absolutely just there to be there. And I fucking love Galarian Corsola, but that thing could have fit into ANY region and made sense. There's nothing uniquely British about any Galarian form that isn't a joke
