Actually I think that's exactly why I dislike it. It's not an OG unicorn, it's a modern, cynical, pop-culture interpretation of a disdainful unicorn. Unicorns are SUPPOSED to be pure, beautiful and magical both in looks and in spirit. But modern media paints this in a negative slant, instead saying that all that obsession with purity makes unicorns snobby, elitist and vain. Like some high-class rich girl.
Had it played the tale of the unicorn straight, being a creature that correctly conveys a sense of elegance, pure-heartedness and beauty, it could have been quiet a beloved Pokémon. The idea for it was pretty much perfect. Execution…not so much.
