Is it time for Gym Leaders to have Pokemon based on some theme other than typing? When was the last time a Gym Leader wasn't a slog to get through where you just used one or two moves over and over and over?

How would you inject some challenge into these games to make the player have to use their brain? Self-imposed challenges like Nuzlocke don't count.
