>>43151287>What did you like about gen 3?Gen 3 feels so fast: menus, animations, biking, surfing, etc. Really satisfying
Weird and interesting Pokemon, lot of designs that don't feel like they're too "on the nose" about their origins and inspirations at a glance, but also look natural too. Like Whismur, Castform, or Slaking.
Double battles are fun to mix up with
How connected the routes and towns are when it comes to moving, Petalburg is like a hub where you can go in 3 complete different directions and come back to it one way or another.
Gen 3's PC system pretty much set the standard of the series and going from Gen 1 and 2's to 3 is such an improvement, I feel like this one ain't brought up much.
And other things people in the thread listed before.
>What did you dislike about gen 3?The Pokemon selection in Hoenn is sort of lacking. It's not like I'm starved for choices, but Hoenn could use more.
Dex collecting is a pain too.
Gen 3 Pokemon feel too weak to use sometimes, even ingame. A lot of them being single-stages designed in pairs (Plusle and Minun, Volbeat and Illumise, Seviper and Zangoose, Solrock and Lunatone) kind of holds them back if you ask me.
And many Gen 3 mon's BST are kinda too low, recent years have tried to fix that with the small BST buffs, but it's not enough to fix how powercreeped they are, many were powercreep right after Gen 3. Their gimmicks also fucked them over a lot like Slaking, Castform, Shedinja or Kecleon (prior to it getting Protean). It's like GF didn't want the new Gen 3 mons to overshadow older legacy Pokemon at the time.
FRLG made the dumbest decision of barring you from Johto pre/evos until postgame. Seeing Golbat not evolve for the 50th level up is a nightmare. Really holds it back from being a good remake IMO. Thank god HGSS and even ORAS let you use non-ingame dex Mons before you get the National dex.
