This is by far the most autistic thing I've ever done, but this lockdown got me bored as fuck and this was kinda fun to do.

Also finding a 2D character that wasn't some over the top anime character was impossible.

figured I'd try something weird.
the idea with the rematch team is that Smeargle would set up Sunny Day for Castform, but past that there's not a ton of coordination. she's more of a "I use Pokemon I really like" kind of trainer.
also, I figured you'd fight her early on and then "rematch" her way later, which is why her first team only has 3 mons but her actual gym is in the postgame. like some side character you'd see added to a third version or something.

thanks. I wasn't sure if I wanted to try building an entire Sunny Day setup from the team, since it seemed like it'd kinda take away from the "theme." I'm sure there's a way to make them all work together somehow.

Oh shit, you actually made the sister. I also like how she specializes in types weak to her sister (not sure if intentional but it prob was). Love the whole agent vibe, I wish we saw more of that in the games.

This took way too long, but I think this came out decent. The gym leader template would've worked better to show who's in my roster for what level of badge the challenging trainer has, but this was fun nonetheless.
My gym leader's strategy is when the challenging trainer's pokemon start to weaken down I shout out to them that "hey so-and-so is looking pretty tired, maybe you should think about switching them out for now." And while the trainer is deliberating on that or about to switch them out, my pokemon know to go in for the Pursuit attack to finish them off. You shouldn't ever let down your guard during a battle.

Other dirty tricks would be part of that strategy. In-game, Beat Up would be thematic. Switcheroo to put a bad item on the opposing pokemon or having a pokemon feign being weakened only to use Payback would be good tricks too.
