>>43162655At this point I wonder if it's because good sprites are hard to make. I played through Bloodstained recently, and while I enjoyed it, I wasn't really a fan of the 2.5D look and thought it would have benefited from a sprite-based artstyle instead. I feel like the same could be said for a game like LGP/E, or even something as recent as the PMD remake. If modelling is somehow easier, then fine, but maybe attempt to make them look good?
