>>43163487I like Giovanni more as a Gym Leader, not really as a Team Leader. Like, him being arrogant as the "greatest trainer" and having a directly opposite philosophy for Red, while being Red's final challenge to qualify for the League is cool.
I also like how Giovanni actually values good virtues, believing in the power of teamwork above all else, and yet, because he's a bad guy and failed, Silver failed to learn the one possibly useful lesson Giovanni could've taught him.
Besides that, I like Ghetsis enough because of his battle themes, and antics like actually trying to kill the protagonist outright. Also helps that he's actually competent to a degree, like him actually using Kyurem against you.
Manga Cyrus is fucking based for whoever hasn't read it. He's actually threatening and menacing in battle, he has his comedic eccentricities (his punishment for his subordinates' failures is pinching them on the cheeks, for example), and unlike most other shonen/action stories, the climax involves the protagonists actually trying to prove his philosophies wrong instead of just beating him down.
Lysandre could've been cool, but he's wasted potential because XY's storytelling was so shit. The rest are just idiots or lunatics, and not in a charming way either.
