This one, I agree with.

Barry is a strange one, since Infernape fits him best but Masters and the anime say Empoleon. At least he has Chimchar in the manga.

surprised by the number of Hau x Rowlet when I always thought Rowlet would go to the protagonist. Incineroar suits Prof Kukui the most but I think it works with Hau too.

Anime probably influenced it, plus despite Rowlet being so popular, Litten was a close second for people to pick. especially since you could argue Incineroar is more popular than Decidueye (or at least, closes the gap that Rowlet has in popularity as a base form). Popplio was so far behind both of them in popularity.
