Just got around to playing it and while it might not be the best game in the series overall, it's definitely a good game and make advancements in several areas
>the graphics aren't AAA standard but they're the best a Pokemon game has ever looked and makes the world feel more alive than ever
>the region design is a pretty good recreation of England, I quite like the little boxes which are 100% accurate
>the story is the ARGUABLY the best in the series, it folds the main characters gym challenge and the legendary pokemon storylines together well, pacing is on point and climaxes at the right moment
>Leon is a champion that acts like a champion - dat moment when he removes his cape during the final battle and the number "1" is shown on his back
>your rival isn't weak/useless nor a complete dick, he factors into the story and it culminates in you fighting together as friends should
>wild area gives you access to a lot of Pokemon early on
