i remember when anons told me yokai watch would actually compete with pokemon, i kind of wanted to believe them, it was really big in japan, but it was too japanese it couldn't do much in other countries, like imagine you are a kid and you love your yokai games but all your friends are playing pokemon, because it's the thing all the youtubers are playing, you eventually grow out of yokai but pokemon stays in your mind because it is still in everyone's mind
the same goes for temtem it is impossible for any new game to get the normie audience, the normie audience is fucking huge, it outnumbers everything, sure some hipsters and twitter fags probably loved temtem but for how long, eventually pokemon takes over their minds again, and let's not forget all the people that just doesn't like temtem because it honestly looks like shit, that basically cuts your audience in half
Maybe if digimon did something fucking incredible with huge mass appeal, they could take a bit of that normie audience but they'll never get to pokemon levels again
