Nidoking in this image always makes me laugh, but while a lot of their favourites are shit I still understand the want to have an OC and have a team, it's always been a thing I've wanted since I was a lil kid and I am sure lots of people feel the same way too despite calling it cringe

It's 5 per region with Wigglytuff my bro coming with me each time
Only exceptions are my Kanto Tangela coming with me to Sinnoh, and in Kalos I had my Hoenn Swampert (for the Mega) and a Charmeleon because I don't like many Kalos Pokemon.
Still haven't settled on a Gen 8 team.

I just do it in paint, sprites are all online (for Gens 6+ you'll have to find fanmade ones)

I've seen people make them like this lately too, though you'd probably have to do it in photoshop/gimp. I imagine it's harder to do but you might prefer this artstyle idk, I prefer sprites

The best thing for these autistic headcanons is taking a mon from one of your past teams and evolving it in a later region. Like Magneton in Kanto but you bring it back to your team as a Magnezone in Sinnoh.

Do you mean like bringing old Pokemon back from old regions? Or catching more than 6 Pokemon in one region and switching them in on occasion?
I do a little of both but not so much the latter, I have quite a few side mons that don't get used in battle though.

The latter. I always liked it when Ash brought Tauros or Kingler to fight instead of his usual 6 and I romanticize the idea of catching a lot of Pokemon and preparing against a specific opponent or gym leader even if the games themselves are too easy to do this and feel fulfilled

Yeah I have a few side Pokemon that see some battles but I tend to focus on the main team. And most of my other catches are just part of some dumb mini-plot and don't get used to battle.
Have you tried playing tough romhacks if you wanna do it in game? FireRed Omega had me switching things up a little, and I'm doing Emerald Kaizo right now and I've been basically building a new team each Gym so far.

Romhacks fuck with my autism. I can't play Firered Omega with all its stupid encounters. Just can't stand seeing all those Hoenn mons in Kanto, doesn't feel right or authentic. Maybe if the dex was more limited I'd play it.

i cant really remember for gen 1/2, those are just some of my favorites. for sapphire i remember having treecko/sceptile, tropius, kyogre, poochyena/mightyena, absol and metagross basically as my go-to team most of the time, yeah. others are also dear ones

My headcanon is that the family spans across generations and regions and that all the MC's in my game are cousins of each other that pass down pokemon from parents, grandparents, etc to be taken care of. That way pokemon of that particular game are linked with that family member. So far the alola cousin is taking care of my mons from generation 1-7, mons that were passed down and now are retired. And my Galar MC is currently having his adventure with his teams. Once gen 9 drops then he'll retire his mons to the ranch
