>>43197062Anon here, I'm not against new hacks, just against the lack of originality that characterizes these hacks. I really enjoyed Pokemon Glazed and Flora Sky, and those hacks are a lot more polished than RoL and Rijon Adventures (my favourite hack roms).
Older hacks weren't about trying to make the game look as modern as it could, they were trying to make a fun pokemon experience without introducing as many things as possible. Even if johto pokemon are nerfed in Gen 2, it was always nice playing a ruby hack and finding kanto and johto pokemon, especially taking into count that rse sprites are different from frlg
>>43197036Light Platinum was revolutionary when it came out because it looked like Gen 4 while being Gen 3, the only problem it had was that the game was too repetitive and easy. All the things they added, like headbutting trees and surfing in lava were shadowed by copypasting trainers and giving them awful movesets. There was also the problem of exploration, seeing as the second region was boring as fuck and there weren't alternative routes to explore and get rare pokemon because all of them were gifted to you. Only the legendaries are "hidden"
