china is a goldmine in that:
1. there's a lot of them
2. they have terrible taste and very low expectations and will gobble any fucking garbage up
3. vidya is relatively new to them so it's important getting a foot into the chang door for future installments

I can see Canada happening but it wouldn't be a particularly interesting regions. Also, Gamefreak likes to get inspired by different countries' culture, but Canada doesn't have a lot of unique things. They also already made a Pokémon movie in Canada, not sure if they mind reusing countries used by the movies.

I don't know if 4 gens is enough to establish a pattern, but ever since they stopped making Japan regions, it's been America, Europe, America, Europe.
So if I had to guess, Gen 9's region will be America.

I highly doubt it will ever happen. You have to treat Australia like they did the U.S. Especially sense they're about the same size but we'll never get a Gen 5 again, so I'd rather not.

Also from a lore perspective, Australia is filled with true monsters. Just look at all the Aus'mon we have already. They're mid to high level and they're just the common ones. I've head canon Australia as a frontier land were Masters go to test themselves for a while now because of it.

China I can see happening eventually but I don't think it will happen now, not after this shit. I'd rather they finish off Japan first. Though it would be funny if the first China region is based on the territory they conquered last century.

Tubeline bridge is based on a bridge in the uk
Village bridge from italy
Marvelous bridge from france
The entralink and abyssal ruins and half the skyarrow bridge from japan
So if you're gonna say Hollywood because of a shitty side area then it's also based on all those as well.
And the story is based entirely on taoism so china, also opelucid city as well.
