I wish I could turn back time, delete Beartic from the games, and make Unovan Ursaring instead as a white recolor and Ice-type version of Ursaring

They're both just my mom's bears.
Ursaring fits in his gen, considering that Johto is filled with them. Beartic sticks out like a sore thumb tho, with others like Swanna, Pidove, Herdier.

Beartic is nothing like Ursaring so deleting it is retarded.

And if Ursaring were to get a regional variant, it would be based on a Sun Bear. Teddiursa has a crescent moon on it's head.

Expanding the topic a bit, if modern mechanics had existed from the start, what other pokemon would have just been megas or regional forms? I feel like blissey would have just been mega chansey, sine it's just chansey with more doodads.

Many canine and feline Pokémon are distinct enough in their designs and functions. Not only are Ursaring and Beartic of the same build, but they have identical Attack stats, and similar terrible Speed stats with abilities that can boost it (Quick Feet and Slush Rush/Swift Swim). It's just pointless for Beartic to exist over an Unovan Ursaring that would be Ice-type and have Slush Rush.
