The original Girafarig was too monster-like and the series needed stronger international appeal. It makes sense they would modify it, just like they did with other, potentially controversial designs. (Wolfman, whose design could be attributed to the Eskimo and Jaranra, who’s shadowed face could be attributed to blackface similar to Jynx)
