Is Trapinch unironically 'good in Trick Room'? It boasts a monstrous attack identical to Flygon and has a pathetic base speed of 10. Maybe slap an Eviolite on the little guy, give it some Sheer Force. Or do people usually do Arena Trap?

How does Trapinch is Trick Room compare to Flygon not in Trick Room?

100 atk is alright when you have a boosting move like DD, and even then is mediocre at best, the only way Trapinch would see some usage is if Dugtrio was banned but Arena Trap was still legal, and even then many people would just prefer Diglett

Why the fuck would you use Trapinch in a trick room team outside of little cup? Theres way better options. Also, 100 base attack is mediocre at best, its not good by any stretch of the imagination. Combine that with Trapinch's awful bulk even with eviolite and I have to think youre retarded for even considering using it. I'm gonna assume you only wanna use it because its your favorite pokemon or some shit but no, it's not good. If you want a ground type for trick room consider rhyperior, hippowdon, steelix, runerigus, golurk, mudsdale, diggersby

It might be usable in PU/ZU, sure. But pokemon that are actually "good" in trick room are also usable outside of it. Trapinch's non-existent bulk is not made up for by it's frankly average attack (if you compare it to most physical attackers upwards of NU)

People keep posting that meme replay of a giga drain trapinch fucking over a seismitoad. That shows the utility of arena trap, not the viability of trapinch alone. If you're looking for a physical attacker for your trick room team, you're better off using what >>43204144 said.
