Gen 6+ are literally not worth playing, so that gets crossed out
Gen 1 isn't even good by today's standards. It relies on nostalgia & glitches to be enjoyable
Gen 2 - pretty ok. (refined later in ds era)
Gen 3 - r/s are also pretty ok but gen 3 also had emerald which is based, though I do know people that don't like gen 3.
Gen 4 - 5 (DS era) Has the best games in the series
Refined johto as HG/SS, Refined Sinnoh as Platinum, BW and B2W2 having some of the most content and best aesthetics to date
It's not really too hard to see why people think this
