>>43212458I don't know much about actual Switch development, so I guess that would depend on how much the games are geared to the architectural peculiarities of the Tegra's on-chip peripherals making it necessary to emulate them. If phones continue to advance meaningfully, I'd probably pull around 2023-2025 out of my ass as well. It took about 10 years for PDAs to emulate the GB well, another 10 or so for the GBA, 3-5 for the DS, current phones can probably deal with the 3DS.
>>43212759This is the first time I have heard of eFuses but from what I have read about them thus far it doesn't seem like an anti-emulation technology but rather an anti-hacking/downgrading technology. The fuses seem straightforward to emulate in software to me.
>>43212707>That today the games are STILL this at heart should tell you all you need to know about what Game Freak upltimately see their games as. Keep crying that vision doesn't mesh with yours.I've only read a little bit of this chain but it seems like the typical "kid's game == shit game" argument and I really don't understand why this is a thing. I don't really think any of current Pokémon's actual deficiencies are the fault of Tajiri's vision or its target demographic, kids like and deserve nice things too.
